How on earth do you describe a place like this!

So on a very hot day we jumped on the Hop on Hop off bus. We stayed on the whole way – a two hour tour with commentary. By the end we felt we’d seen and learnt so much about this mirage in the desert. The hotels are vast and they’re not really hotels but rather mini resorts each offering a ton of restaurants, fabulous displays from the ceilings to the walls and, of course, huge casinos. We haven’t swapped our holiday dollars for tokens yet but we’ll certainly give it a go before we leave.

Not quite what our Japanese Bath in the Window was intended for but we racked up 15,000 steps yesterday. Walking the streets has its hazards. There are interesting people in many forms of dress and undress advertising shows or offering photo opportunities. At one point Sue disappeared and we found her being hugged by this fit, tanned and half naked chap. She wasn’t complaining.

I think it was the one in the middle! At least he didn’t cart her off to one of the many wedding chapels around the city. This one also had a drive thru so that’s handy if you want to get wed and then carry on to work.
In the evening we took in the Bellagio fountain display.
You really need a lengthy video to fully appreciate the different patterns and heights the fountains shoot up to but this is just a taste. After that we went into the Bellagio to find the Cirque de Soleil ‘O’ Theatre. The show, called ‘O’, is a mesmerising 90 minutes. On the stage, if you can call it that, is a massive water tank which sometimes disappears and becomes a solid stage. There are world class divers and olympic synchronised swimmers plus trapeze artists, gymnasts and contortionists performing amazing feats all wrapped up in a quite surreal package. Photos aren’t allowed but do look it up, it’s hard to describe and do it justice.
We leave here for Death Valley but we might just have a little gamble before we go – it wouldn’t be right not to………
