Today was rather a sight seeing fest but first, the eclipse. All news channels were mostly devoted to it and there were also special Eclipse Channels. It was due in our neck of the woods around 10.15 am when we were on the Big Bus Hop On Hop Off. We didn’t have eclipse glasses so watching live or attempting a photo would have been foolish.

This image was ‘borrowed’ – it seems the moon completely swallowed the sun in New York but just took a nibble here.
The bus was 2 and a half hours worth of San Fran’ facts and points of interest.

In the afternoon we did the Bridge to Bridge cruise. This was just 90 minutes but took us across the bay between the Golden Gate Bridge and Oakland Bay Bridge.

So you’ll notice that despite the sunshine and blue sky it was chilly when the wind blew. This morning Janice had bare arms on the bus and as the wind buffeted us as we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge she was determined to keep the goose bumps away in the afternoon.
We have been a bit like a travelogue so far so thought we’d have a quiz instead.

1.Whose hair belongs to who?

2. We met a handsome Assistance Dog, what was his name? ( Clue – think jeans).
3. Janice, like Sheila, gets seasick. Where did Janice stick the Seasick prevention patch. A. Behind her ear. B. On her navel. C. On her wrist

4. Can you tell what’s going on on this bridge?

5. This chap kept up with our boat and even posed for photos. What sport is he doing?
Please don’t send answers on a post card, (there are no prizes), and we’re off to Highway 1 tomorrow en route to Carmel.
Answers
1. Janice, Sue, Sheila

3. On her navel. ( It was recommended in the instructions and she wasn’t sick!)
4. The cars/lorries run in different directions above and below each other- not side by side. Apologies for the poor picture so extra kudos if you got it right.
