Hello America

You would think it difficult to find things to pass the time, 11 hours, in an aeroplane but it’s surprisingly easy.

To begin there’s the regular refreshment. Being lucky enough to qualify for a welcome glass of champagne it sets the mood. Although we quickly returned to form and chose Diet Coke to accompany our meal.

Once suitably sustained it’s scour the movie list time.  Tried to persuade Janice to watch Barbie but even my fruity descriptions of Mr Gosling and his accompanying ‘Kens’ couldn’t tempt her  away from her Sodoku.  Sue also exercised the grey matter with Puzzler although she later fell to the temptations of Mr Cruise on a Mission Impossible.

Through the window stunning views of Iceland’s jagged landscape and the snowy wastes of Greenland.

Back in the cabin it’s squash yourself into the loo time, that’s after you’ve negotiated the door- push or pull? – then the search for the flush button. It all passes the time.  A quick nap helps too and with the time difference it will help our circadian rhythms to adjust.

Then the ear popping descent begins and LA appears through the clouds. It’s vast.

To follow – driving from the airport to the hotel…..
